Hello! My name is Josie, and my middle name is Mae - which is where the "mae" in maede.for.you. comes from.
I love to cook, read, and spend time with my wonderful family and friends.
I started this blog as a way to keep track of favorite recipes and it has also become a creative outlet for me to experiment with cooking and photography. I do not have any formal training with either of those things...but I hope that with time and practice I can at least make tasty food that also looks good. Many cooking mistakes have happened and will continue to happen, I have no doubt. I have burned things, dropped things, spilled things, over-salted things - but you live and learn, right?
I started to experiment with cooking during college and even more so when I graduated college. I always loved my mom's cooking growing up and still think she is the best cook I know! I was always amazed at how she could concoct a delicious dish without using a recipe. I wish I would've spent more time in the kitchen with her growing up, but I thank her for the knowledge that she did give me. I still have so much to learn...and I welcome any help and advice! I love finding new recipes, spending a day bookmarking pages in a new cookbook, or getting ideas from Pinterest, of course. I do not claim to be very inventive, and I am by no means an expert, but I try to put a new twist on the recipes I find, or swap out ingredients to align with what I already have on hand in my kitchen. Mostly, I just want my food to taste good.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Please come back again soon.
